The Space 

Quinta Esperança is a traditional Madeiran estate over 200 years old, nestled in the heart of Funchal. Once one of the city’s first hotels, its elegant architecture still echoes that golden era. Surrounded by beautiful gardens full of fruit trees like mangoes, bananas and avocados, it’s a peaceful retreat just a short walk from the city centre (10 minute walk to Oldtown and there is also a bus stop right outside the gate).

Privacy and quietness are at the heart of Quinta Esperança. We want you to feel at home, not like you’re staying in a hotel.

The Apartment 

Orchid is a beautifully decorated open plan apartment on the top floor, where the private balcony opens up to a stunning panorama over Funchal’s harbour and the whole city.

The space is smartly laid out with a sitting and dining area, kitchenette, bathroom and the incredible balcony. The king size bed (160×200) comes with high quality mattresses, pillows and linen. There’s also a flat screen TV with 140 channels and fast Wi-Fi.

IMPORTANT: Please note that Orchid is accessed via exterior spiral stairs, so just make sure you’re comfortable with that before booking!
